The sustainable and low-carbon building material
The sustainable and low-carbon building material
British Stone is a sustainable, low-carbon building material compared to energy-intensive construction products such as concrete and clay bricks. The extraction methods and modern quarrying equipment used across Lovell Stone Group results in a low environmental impact.

Underground mining operations, by its very nature, is the keyhole surgery of quarrying, leaving the surface undisturbed. The empty void space created when we cease quarrying will provide an important habitat for rare species of bats.
Our Fantini chain saws and winch system are electrically powered, reducing our carbon emissions. We utilise all the material extracted, from prime block stone down to the dust from the sawing process. Any material without a commercial value is used to support the exhausted quarry workings.
